Community-engaged food research
Our Team.
Glean is founded by a sister-team of Social Science researchers: Dr. Jen Bagelman (Geography) and Dr. Carly Bagelman (Education) who share a love for food and doing community-based work.
Jen and Carly grew up on Coast Salish territories and both completed their Master's degrees at the University of Victoria in Political Science. Both Carly and Jen went on to complete their doctoral degrees in the UK and have now work with community in nourishing more equitable foodscapes.
Glean is partially funded by a Social Sciences Humanities Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship held by Jen in the Department of Geography at the University of British Columbia.
